Montessori at Rescue

Based on the educational model created by Maria Montessori, the goal of Montessori education is to foster independent, competent, responsible, adaptive citizens who are lifelong learners and problem solvers. Learning occurs in an inquiring, cooperative, nurturing atmosphere. Students increase their own knowledge through self- and teacher-initiated experiences. Teachers take on the role of guides and children direct their own learning. Students learn by manipulating materials and interacting with others. These meaningful experiences are precursors to the abstract understanding of ideas. The individual is considered as a whole. Respect and caring attitudes for oneself, others, the environment, and all life are necessary.

Kindergarten & Montessori Preview Night

Come and see what Rescue School has to offer for Kindergarten and Montessori classrooms preschool through 2nd grade in 2010/11. Kindergarten is the first year of "real" school and with it comes lots of questions from first time parents. We are so excited about the addition of Montessori practices to our school that we want to share with everyone the positives of the program. Combining both of these into a Preview Night is our answer to spreading the news.
