Homework
It is easier to form good habits than to correct bad habits! Please help your child develop good homework habits by having them complete and return their homework each day.
We have a folder that goes back and forth between school and home every day. If the folder becomes lost or damaged, feel free to replace it with any two pocket folder of your choice. The homework folder has a right and a left hand pocket. In the left pocket are all papers, completed work, notices, etc. These are to be left at home, as written on the pocket. The right pocket, labeled return to school, is for homework, forms, etc. that need to be completed and returned.
Homework is almost always the same. Students are to read (or be read to if they are not yet a reader) for at least 10-20 minutes a night. They will then record what they have read on the reading log in their folder. The reading log is to be returned in their folder every Friday morning. It can remain at home until then. The second part of homework is generally a math worksheet that practices the math lesson done in class that day. It is to be completed and returned each day.
