Behavior "Clip" Chart
The behavior management system I use in class is a "clip chart up/down". A clip chart serves as a visual reminder to encourage improved behaviors and promote accountability. Each clip “level” is associated with a particular color. This approach is often-used at the kindergarten level. I understand that kindergarten children are still continuing to learn to regulate their emotions and social interactions. The clip chart is a tool to help children be more conscious of their behaviors, and encourage them to “clip up”.
Also, here at Rescue and in the classroom we follow the Rescue's Raisers rules:
In the classroom, Raiders are...
Respectful
Use appropriate language. Speak only when it is your turn. Use supplies and materials as instructed.
Responsible
Follow directions the first time they are given. Turn in your best work on time.
Safe
Keep your hands, feet, and objects to yourself. Sit correctly in your seat.
