In our classroom, every student is expected to behave and act in such a way that will enable themselves and others to learn. The expectation is that they will follow Rescue’s Guidelines for Success (The Big 3). They may not disrupt the classroom. In our classroom, we will use a weekly point system that will enable the winning group to be the first to line up each day. Also we use a marble jar that students will work towards earning a reward such as popcorn, movies, etc. Ultimately, each student will respect my right to teach and their right to learn.

Our curriculum will include:
Language Arts
* Accelerated Reader Program
* Narrative, Informative, and Opinion Writing
* Benchmark and Scholastic News for reading/grammar standards and skills
* Novel Studies and Read Alouds (whole group and small group to help further develop comprehension and reading skills)
Math
* Go Math that is aligned with common core standards
Social Studies
* Studies Weekly and 3 field trips
Science
* Twig Science that follows NGSS standards
PE
Twice a week, normally Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a separate PE teacher
