Dear Rescue Families:

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  I’m looking forward to working with all of you this year.  Please don’t hesitate to contact me in person, by e-mail or by phone: 677-2720.  By communicating and working together, we can make this a successful year for all.  It is a great honor to be the Principal of Rescue Elementary School!  The staff at Rescue recognizes that educating your children is a privilege and is a team effort.  We encourage a positive home/school relationship and value your input and participation in making sure that your students receive the very best possible education we can provide.

Our school theme this year is  "Onward."  Last year presented some very unique and challenging circumstances.  Our school (along with many others) finished the year in Distance Learning which involved providing learning experiences that people had never experienced before.  Nevertheless, I was and am proud of the efforts that our staff, students, and families gave towards those efforts.  As we enter the 2020-21 school year, we are faced with unique circumstances.  As we prepare for them, our focus is to look "Onward" to the great opportunities that are in store for our students.  We believe that everyone is on a journey of experience and we celebrate the unique qualities of every student.  As a school, we have the privilege to work with learners that possess many interests, strengths, and passions.  It is important to celebrate the diversity of each member of our school community and offer a quality learning experience that not only prepares students for the next level, but that fosters those passions.  No matter what our learning model is, we are committed to helping your students learn, develop and grow in all aspects in a safe environment for students that provides them opportunities to think critically, collaborate and communicate with their peers and members of the community, and to encourage creativity. Our goal is to prepare every student with essential skills and knowledge that will open doors of opportunity and promote their success in our ever changing world.  As our students develop, we hope to send them off to the next level as "Agents of Change" making our community and the world for that matter a better place.

At Rescue Elementary, we focus on what we call our "Big Three" which is show respect, make good decisions, and solve problems.  These standards challenge our students and our community to provide and actively participate in a learning environment that is respectful, responsible and safe.  While things may look a little different this year, I am confident that with hard work and dedication, our students will thrive.  I am a big believer that it takes a village to raise a child and that we cannot do our job without the support from you!  Our mission supports students, staff, parents, and our community working together to help students be the best they can be in and out of the classroom.  I look forward to partnering with you in this effort!

I am frequently out and about on our campus, please take an opportunity to introduce yourself or contact me if you need any assistance.  I am excited about the opportunity to work with your children this year.

Have a great year!

Sincerely,
Dustin Haley
