Dear Rescue Families:

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! The staff here at  Rescue Elementary are looking forward to an excellent year as we continue to make gains and offer our students and families a memorable experience.  Rescue Elementary has a rich tradition of academic rigor, character building and community involvement.  These values are extremely important as Rescue Elementary continues to move forward into the new school year and help children develop and grow to live rewarding lives.

It is an understatement to say we have seen significant changes in education over the past 2 years.  One thing that has not changed is our dedication to provide the best education possible for our students.  This year our theme will be  “Onwards and Up”.  We strive to continue to push forward and elevate our teaching to maximize the education we provide to our students.  We accomplish this by having dedicated staff collaboration time to refine our best practices in the classroom.  We also provide  support staff that are able to work with small groups and individuals within the school day.  We are  happy to announce that our counselor Terry Libbon will be at Rescue Elementary every day of the  week this year.  Although life has thrown us many curve balls, we continue to adjust to best serve the families in our community.

Our school site has strived to get back to normal and will continue to move in that direction.  If we face additional changes this year with CDPH and CalOSHA protocols, the Rescue USD and myself will continue to notify families as soon as that happens.  I appreciate your flexibility and support and we continue to push “onward and up” together.

We will be using the Parent Portal (Aeries) to notify families of a child’s class assignment for the 2022-23 school year.  In the spirit of protecting each family’s confidentiality, a child’s class assignment will be available to a parent through their Parent Portal account on August 9th after 4:00pm.  Please contact the office if you have any questions.

Our first day of school is Wednesday, August 10th.  Please see the bell schedule for your child’s scheduled time.  Back to School Night is scheduled for Thursday, August 11th and  will be offered in person.  The evening schedule is staggered to accommodate parking and families with multiple siblings.  More information for back to school night is listed below.

As your principal I enjoy being on campus with the students and engaging with families.  Please feel free to take the opportunity to introduce yourself as we start the new school year.  Given the challenging circumstances I feel we had an excellent year 2021/2022 and were able to bring back many of the events and activities that define Rescue Elementary. I am looking forward to a year of positivity and new beginnings with the start of the 2022/2023 Rescue Elementary school year.

Sincerely,
